The Court is a building where the Judge works.
Before the court hearing the Judge will read reports from:
- the social worker
- the Guardian
- your parent’s solicitors
- and YOU (if you want to write a letter to the Judge)
Then, on the day of the hearing, the Judge will:
- listen to what everyone has to say
- ask what you want to happen
- ask your Solicitor and the Guardian what they think. (This may sometimes be different to what you want, as the Guardian has to tell the Judge what they think is best for you)
When the hearing is over, the Judge will make a decision (sometimes that day and sometimes later) about what they think is best for you and what will happen next.
The Guardian's job ends when the final court hearing is over.
